Myer for Coomera
Robina’s chain reaction
GOLD Coasters had a chance to get up close and personal with former Miss Universe, Jennifer Hawkins, last weekend.
The Myer ambassador was warmly welcomed by crowds at the Robina Town Centre Myer grand opening last Sunday.
Myer chief executive officer Bernie Brookes joined Ms Hawkins in the official opening of the store, which featured fashion parades showcasing the latest season’s trends, face painting, live music and balloon giveaways.
The Robina store is now the second Myer to hit the Gold Coast with plans to open a Myer at Coomera in the pipeline.
Latoya Dhu got the chance to meet Ms Hawkins and said it was an experience she would never forget.
“It was very exciting,” she said.
“I’ve been a fan since she became Miss Universe.
“The new Myer store is great. It’s really nice inside, and not too big.”
The two-level Myer store was the second to open nationally this year.
Mr Brookes said Robina was a great location.
“Since opening in August, Myer Top Ryde has delivered very strong results for the company and I am certain Myer Robina will be another strong performing store,” he said.
“I am sure that the Gold Coast community will welcome Myer Robina with the same enthusiasm as Queenslanders have embraced Myer for many years.”
Myer Robina store manager Scott Adams said customer feedback so far was nothing but positive.
“This store will make Myer more accessible for residents who have close proximity to the highway,” Mr Adams said.
“It will open up new customers to us.”
The new Myer Robina store is part of QIC Global Real Estate’s $90 million expanded Robina town centre development.
After completion, the mean annual turnover of Robina Town Centre is expected to exceed $700 million.
