First Stage of Coomera Town Centre Propels Development Boom
The $470 million first stage of the Coomera Town Centre is quickly taking shape and is expected to open in late 2018. This massive project was first proposed more than 22 years ago and now that it is coming to fruition, businesses are gaining interest in the area.
Developers and landowners who own properties around the new retail hotspot are considering resuming projects that they have put on hold, which could also mean that more jobs will be made available.
According to the Gold Coast Bulletin, “up to $1 billion of further development is back in active discussions, with city leaders confident the centre will become “the Pacific Fair of the north”.
The new retail and lifestyle destination is touted to be “a major gateway to the the northern part of the city.” The site is located just 500m from M1 and nearby the Coomera train station, making it accessible to Brisbane and southern Gold Coast suburbs. It will include a residential and commercial land, community space and mixed-used areas which will the complement the largest shopping centre in the northern Gold Coast.
Droves of people are expected to flock day in and day out once the development becomes operational and a major upgrade of Foxwell Road is a very welcome news. Cr Cameron Caldwell has confirmed that roadworks are to commence soon.
